Peter is an insolvency specialist with extensive experience in contentious corporate and personal matters. He has a strong background in insolvency litigation, including advising on and pursuing antecedent transactions, tax avoidance, debt recovery and enforcement, directors’ misfeasance and breaches of duty, as well as wrongful and fraudulent trading.

Peter also advises debtors on setting aside statutory demands, opposing bankruptcy petitions and making applications to prevent the presentation or advertisement of winding-up petitions.  Conversely, Peter is experiencedin utilising statutory demands for both personal and corporate matters where appropriate, and in presenting bankruptcy and winding-up petitions.

Peter represents a wide range of stakeholders, including insolvency practitioners, directors, secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, LPA Receivers debtors, shareholders, litigation funders, private individuals and other interested parties.

Notable work highlights

  • Peter was one of the team dealing with the administration of Awal Bank in Bahrain, which has in excess of $2 billion of creditor claims and litigation in numerous jurisdictions, including the UK, Cayman Islands, United States, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
  • Acting on the high-profile insolvency of Global Steel Holdings, an Isle of Man company linked to Steel tycoon Pramrod Mittal.
  • Acting for a client in an application against HMRC to successfully retrain the advertisement of a winding-up petition.
