Fern is a Solicitor in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team based in our Southampton office in Hampshire. Fern deals with all aspects of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims which includes, but is not limited to, Road Traffic Collisions, public and employer liability claims, birth injury claims, spinal injury claims, delay in diagnosis claims and claims involving incorrect/substandard treatment.
Fern manages her own caseload and also assists on senior colleague’s cases, gaining valuable experience on complex cases.
Fern completed her LLB (Hons) Law Degree at the University of the West of England, where she also completed her Legal Practice Course with Masters (LLM). Fern completed her training contract with Trethowans and qualified as a solicitor in September 2025.
She has previous experience at Trethowans in the Agriculture and Rural Property team.
Notable work highlights
- Assisting in a successful Employer’s Liability Claim where, sadly, the Claimant’s husband passed away due to the failure of the employer to provide a safe working environment.
- Assisting in a Road Traffic Collision case resulting in spinal damage
- Running a clinical negligence case where substandard treatment by medical professionals resulted in bed sores
- Working on clinical negligence cases involving delayed diagnosis of cancer
- Assisting in a clinical negligence case arising from a significant delay to diagnose macular degeneration causing the claimant to lose vision in one eye
